Held on 2 October, the inaugural BOH 2010 will open 22 buildings and spaces to the people of Brisbane. Volunteers needed! Join the BOH Team We need the help of over 200 volunteers on 2 October. Anyone can volunteer - no experience is necessary. Information sessions will be held for all volunteers to ensure that you know anything that you may need to know on the day. Volunteer roles include: • Building Tour Guide • Managing queues and providing updates to patrons on estimated wait times • Assisting with visitor enquiries (full details of the open buildings will be provided) Benefits of Volunteering for BOH: • Priority access to participating buildings before or after your shift. 22 October 2010 - MS Moonlight Walk More than 1000 people will descend on South Bank at dusk on for a 10km moonlit walk around the city, hoping to raise $100,000 for people living with multiple sclerosis. Walkers take in the best of Brisbane’s river, including the illuminated Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Story Bridge and lush Botanic Gardens before crossing the Goodwill Bridge to reach the finish line. MS Moonlight Walk is a fantastic event because literally anyone can take part, from mums pushing prams to school kids. A number of costume-clad walkers also provide entertainment - some of last year’s colourful characters included a group of Star Wars storm troopers and some 19th Century adventure travellers. Walkers can register online at www.moonwalk.com.au and receive a special fundraising page to manage donations and communicate with supporters.

28 October (Thursday) 2010 - Ascot State School 1950 Scholarship Class Reunion: The Ascot State School Scholarship Class of 1950 is holding a reunion on the 28th October 2010. There were 80 students in that year in two class rooms with our Teachers Mr. Willadsen (Willo) and Mr. Fitzgerald (Fitzy). We have had 30th, 40th, and 50th reunions and this year, our 60th and probably our last (we are all in our 70's). Whilst we have found many of our fellow students there are still a few we have not been able to contact. 31 October (Sunday) 2010 - The Gluten Free Food Expo 10.00am to 3.00pm at The Coffee Club Auditorium, RNA Showgrounds, Fortitude Valley, presented by The Queensland Coeliac Society. Cost: $5 for members of Coeliac Society, $8 for non-members, kids free. Over 35 exhibitors will be showcasing a range of gluten free delights to tempt all tastebuds – not just those of people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance. Gluten free food tastings, cooking demonstrations, show specials and gluten free products for sale. A fun and affordable day out for the whole family. The Expo aims to demonstrate the high quality and availability of gluten free food in Brisbane.
