Jindalee is about 12km from Brisbane’s CBD, on the outer-western fringes of the city. It is bordered by the Brisbane River to the east and the north where the Centenary Bridge crosses to Kenmore and Fig Tree Pocket. On the same side of the river, the other side of the Centenary Highway is Sinnamon Park.
Jindalee was the
first of a series of suburbs named the "Centenary Suburbs", as their
construction was begun in the same year as Queensland's centenary, 1959.
The family-focused suburb features many restaurants, parks, and
community facilities such as sporting clubs. It is linked to the city by
the Centenary Highway, via Milton Road or Coronation Drive. The suburb is
well serviced by bus routes to and from the city.
