  • Alcoholics Anonymous - Central Service Office
    ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
    The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. 
    A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. 
    Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.  
      
  • Alternatives to Violence Project AVPQ is a growing community of people who support those actively seeking nonviolent solutions to conflict. Members share experiences, skills, information and their time. It is a multicultural, independent, non-profit association of trained volunteers, offering experiential workshops that help people to change their lives.

  • ESTHeR Emergency, Supported & Transitional Housing eRegister
    An online accommodation register showing the availability status and contact details of a large number of not for profit crisis accommodation services in the greater Brisbane area. ESTHeR is a free community service that functions as a collaborative web project directed by member services of the ESTHeR Alliance.
     
  • Help U Care have recently opened their Community Drop-In Centre and Op-Shop at 29 Margaret Street, Southport. You're welcome to drop in for some friendship, a free cuppa and you might even find a great bargain in the Op-Shop! We also offer free food hampers, practical assistance for families in crisis, T.L.C. visits to the elderly or housebound, free budgeting advice and much more. Help U Care is open 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, or you can call us on 07 55 918913.
     
  • Kids Help Line is Australia's only free, confidential and anonymous, 24-hour telephone and online counselling service specifically for young people aged between five and 18.

  • DVconnect Mensline is a free, confidential telephone counselling referral and support service for men. It is a Queensland wide service that operates between the hours of 10am 6pm, Mondays to Fridays. Mensline offers professional counselling and information, and acts as a strategic point of referral for Queensland men around issues of: domestic and family violence, relationship problems and separation issues, mens health, child support, family law issues, suicide and other significant issues for men. Importantly Mensline offers specialist assistance for men who are seeking strategies to address their own use of violence and other destructive patterns in their personal lives and relationships, as well as those who may be (or have been) victims of violence themselves.

  • Teen Challenge Care Qld Ltd - Crisis accommodation for young men between the ages of 18 -25. Drug & Alcohol rehabilitation program for young people between the ages of 18 - 25 although some exceptions to this age limit are considered
     
  • Wesley Mission Brisbane, an outreach of the Albert Street Uniting Church, is one of Brisbane's longest-established welfare ministries. It provides care and comfort and support to thousands of men, women and children through a network of Aged Care facilities and community services throughout the greater Brisbane region.   • White Wreath Association Inc. TM Action Against Suicide
    Created to bring to the attention of the Australian public, the increasing number of people who suicide in Australia every year. The White Wreath Association was founded in 1999 by Fanita, the mother of a suicide victim. The association will continue to speak out until changes are made. The White Wreath Association is non-political, non-denominational, anti-discriminatory. Suicide affects all walks of life, all cultures and all ages.
